The Aeronca 7AC Champion

The Aeronca Champ is one of the most beloved training aircraft of all time. This American classic has trained thousands of pilots, and ours is ready to train thousands more! Powered with a mighty 65 hp Continental engine this is flight as it was meant to be. This airplane is perfect for the beginning student or the pilot wanting a tailwheel transition. Come spend a leisurely afternoon flying the Champ.

The Aeronca L-16

The Aeronca Champ was drafted by the Army to serve in the Korean War as the L-16, and ours is an authentic Warbird classic! Fly this war veteran on your own missions of discovery. Like its civilian brother the Champ, the L-16 makes an excellent trainer, as well the perfect weekend warrior. Acres of glass make for unparalleled viewing of the landscape as it drifts lazily by. No speed demon here, but its more fun than anything you've flown lately we bet.

Champion Citabria 7GCAA

The Citabria has become the standard taildragger in recent years. An evolution of the basic 1946 Aeronca 7AC, it is still in production today. The Citabria has evolved into a completely different beast indeed. Powered by a 150 hp Lycoming engine, our Citabria cruises at 115 mph, and climbs like a homesick angel making it a great cross country plane.

Aeronca 11AC

Aeronautical Corporation of America (Aeronca) built the first Chief in 1938 following the Aeronca C-2, C-3 and K series airplanes. After WW2 the Chief was completely redesigned as the 11AC. This new post war design was the companion to the 7AC Champion. Our Chief is currently under restoration. The airplane is covered, and painted. Soon its fresh majored A65 Continental will be installed, and it will be on the line ready to take you aloft for many pleasant flights.

Why Fly Taildraggers?

If you are considering learning to fly, our school is for you! We teach flying the way it should be taught, with an emphasis on safety and flying skill. We do not mass-produce pilots for the airlines. We work with each student on an individual basis, tailoring the lessons to your individual style of learning.

We offer expert instruction for the pilot wanting basic flight training, tailwheel transition training, currency training, and BFR. We offer primary and tailwheel transition training in the Aeronca Champ, or the 150hp Champion Citabria.

Combine your tailwheel transition training with a BFR at no additional cost.
